Prayer to Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian
Cosmas and Damian were brothers and doctors, who lived in Syria during the 3rd century. There were widely known and called upon for their medical skill and renowned for never charging a fee. They were arrested during the persecution of the Christians, tortured and then beheaded for their faith. Cosmas and Damian are the Patron Saints of Physicians. The devout seek assistance in the relief of ailments and for spiritual guidance.
