Prayer to Saint George
Legend has George a Christian knight as a hero who saved a village from a ferocious dragon who terrorized their lives daily. To keep the dragon satisfied the people offered sheep for its consumption. When there were no more sheep, human sacrifice became necessary. George rode through town on the day that a princess was to be sacrificed, it is told that Saint George lifted his lance, motioned the sign of the cross and with a single blow killed the beast. As reward the King offered George half his kingdom. George declined, requesting of the King only that he keep the faith and have pity on the poor. Upon his departure 20,000 townspeople converted to Christianity.
